Stroll along The Avenida de las Playas, here you can find many restaurants, bars, shops, and other tourist attractions. The best time to cycle on Lanzarote is between October and April. The temperatures vary from 17 to 24 degrees. Cycling on Lanzarote is extremely popular, and every year the famous Ironman Triathlon of Lanzarote finds a place on this spectacular island. The roads are perfect, and unlike Tenerife and Gran Canaria, the mountains are not so steep and high. Not only is the weather a great advantage of Lanzarote, but the beauty of the island.

For cycling, we recommend this route with the beautiful cliffs of the island and its peculiar volcanic landscapes around Famara and La Santa. Start from Puerto del Carmen and head towards the western part of Lanzarote and follow the “donkey road” that leads to Tías. From here it´s a relatively flat section until you reach Famara. The wind might be “against you”; however, the stunning views of the Famara cliffs will be rewarding. Take a break at the fishing village of La Santa. After the break, there is a 7-kilometer climb to Tinajo, before crossing some volcanic landscapes. The last stretch will be back to Puerto del Carmen.
