Cycle around Arnhem is one of the best things to do, you will find countless bike lanes. We certainly recommend cycling the Liberation route, you follow the Rhine and cross the river at the John Frost Bridge in Arnhem. This bridge is world famous and also called the ‘Bridge too Far’, after the well-known film about the battle between the Germans and the British. Arnhem is a few kilometers from the Veluwe, a national park and one of the most well-preserved nature areas in the Netherlands. For the sporty one, try the Posbank, a famous hill offering fantastic views of the surrounding heathland. It’s a bit of a climb, but the reward is worth it! When going down you are right in the middle of The Hoge Veluwe National Park another must-see.
