Gravel riding around Madrid offers an exciting mix of adventure, scenery, and culture. Just beyond the city limits, riders find endless gravel tracks winding through rolling hills, pine forests, and quiet countryside. The Sierra de Guadarrama mountains, only an hour from the city, provide stunning routes with challenging climbs and breathtaking views. South of Madrid, the wide plains near Aranjuez and Toledo offer smoother gravel paths perfect for long-distance rides. Many local cyclists start from Casa de Campo, a vast park with gravel-friendly trails right inside the city, before heading out into the open landscapes. Along the way, you can stop at traditional villages for a café con leche or tapas, making every ride both sporty and social. With its combination of rugged nature, rich history, and ideal climate, Madrid is becoming one of Spain’s top destinations for gravel cycling adventures.

A very nice Gravel Route is from Pinto to Toledo. This is a route that can be done in one or two days, depending on whether you want to ride it as a long-distance challenge or prefer to take it easy, spend the night in Toledo, and enjoy the city. The route doesn’t include any major climbs — only a few short ascents, such as the one in the village of Bargas, another one when leaving Toledo (short but steep), and the climb up to Cerro Magán, which is gentle and straightforward.
