Cycling in Tenerife features many highlights, like the climb to “El Teide” through the rugged landscapes of Tenerife National Park. The peak is 2300 meters above sea level. You can almost start at sea level and imagine a 40 km at 6% is really a big challenge.

For cycling, we recommend the southern approach to El Teide. From Vilaflor, the roads, traffic, scenery, and all-around experience are a world paradise for cyclists! Ride on the TF21 from Granadilla to Vilaflor. After Vilaflor, the climb continues through the Coronal Forest heading towards the majestic Teide. When you approach 2000 meters above sea level, the air becomes a little thinner, and the challenge becomes more intense. Head towards the famous Parador Hotel, home of the pro teams when they’re riding on the island, with its amazing views of the mountain.
